University Life:

>
I went to the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. I graduated with a B.Sc. in Agriculture: Horticulture and Business.

>It was tough adjusting to being away from my family in my first year, but once I made friends, those friendships became the best part of my university experience.

>When I was at university, I realized that I should relax my super-hyper-study exam attitude. It didn't get me anywhere.

>I'm also glad that I got involved at university. It's one of the most important aspects of my whole time I was studying - especially since the school work wasn't my favorite part of being a student.

This is Me:

>I'm the same kind of person when I'm alone as when people are watching me - except that I don't sing at the top of my lungs when I'm with other people.

>If my life had to be a tv show, I guess I would be a lot like Wally Cleaver.

>I don't think life would be the same if I couldn't get my hands on some Maple Leaf Cookies! (go Canada!)

>I love watching hockey, basketball and football. I also love playing a strategy game or just vegging.

>The hardest thing that I've ever done was asking my girlfriend's dad if I could marry his daughter. He's a nice guy, but it was tough.

>Being myself means being transparent.

Student Spirituality:

>God was a major part of my parents' lives. That made Him important to me.

>He seemed to be the "go-to" guy when things were tough and when things were good we said, "thanks".

>At university, I was confronted with professors telling me Christ was "bunk". At that point I did some praying - "God if you are real... show me your power."

>He did. He's shown me over and over again that He has power and answers prayer.

>Spirituality in a student's life brings meaning in a time when especially need to be more than just a stat or the next one in line - you need to be someone of significance.

Is Having Christian Parents Enough?
>Since my parent's raised me to respect God, I did. We dressed up nice and went to Church. He always came across as very important.

>When I was 8 years old, I really understood that God wasn't just important - He was personal. I started to realize that my faith in Christ was personal and truly mine, and not just my parents.

>In highschool, I went on a trip to Bolivia with my Church. We prayed about a lot of stuff and I saw God really answer those prayers in incredible ways. I'd say that's when my faith really switched from being my parent's faith to being my own.

>I kept growing in my own faith in university. I learned about prayer and God's Word (the Bible) and that God wants others to know about His love.

>When I got married, my wife and I inscribed on our wedding rings "For His Glory". That means that we want our lives to reflect who God is in a way that impacts other people's lives - we want God to affect every area of our lives - our relationships, our time and our resources.

>The most amazing thing anyone has done for me is that Jesus Christ gave His life for my sin (everything we do wrongly that seperates us from God)! The eternal hater of sin took my sins from me - so that His perfection could be applied to my life. It blows my mind.
