Spirituality gives me purpose
Spirituality is key to life; it is an essential part of surviving university. However, many students trying out spirituality think that it's about looking within yourself. Spirituality is not about ourselves.
True spirituality is about a relationship with Jesus Christ, and accepting what he's done for us. I've realized that without Christ I am nothing.
Spirituality gives me purpose because I know that everything I do has eternal repercussions. Spirituality makes me aware that here is more to life than what I see on earth.
Understanding this affects my value system and how I make decisions.
I rearrange my priorities around my spiritual beliefs and values.

When no one is watching…
I talk to myself a lot. I entertain myself, I make myself laugh. When I think about something, I start talking to myself a little bit.
I'm also goofy. I'm a very light hearted person but I also need close friendships that will challenge me to share about deeper things I'm going through or struggling with.

People tell me that I'm a happy person.
I think I'm a happy person because I am secure knowing that God loves me no matter what, even when I feel like a failure.
I've always been concentrated in getting top marks in school and I used to think if I have the smarts and worked hard enough I can get the top marks.
But in the last two years of university, I realized that I can't do it. In admitting, "I can't do it," God has really brought me to my knees.
What brings me happiness and joy is knowing that in spite of my weakness I can trust that God still loves me.

I would rather follow
I'm not a born natural leader. If I'm in a group setting, I'm not the one to take charge or make decisions about what to do. If someone else is leading, my personality would rather follow.
But through the past few years I've grown in this area of leading as I've got involved in church, clubs, and counseling with youth. When I look back, I've grown to be a stronger leader; I'm not afraid to take leadership.

You will see my collection of Star Wars Lego sets. I'm a Star Wars fan.
I also have a shelf full of toy cars. I've collected more than 100 of them.
Advice to students who want to study computer science
Computer science majors have to be ready to deal with a lot of work and a lot of sleepless nights on the computer trying to finish projects.
You also need to have a certain type of mind, a certain way of thinking. For some it comes naturally and some just can't do it.
It's necessary to be able to think logically and solve mathematical problems. That's what programming is having the ability to think:
- "What are the steps I need to do get it done to solve this problem?
- What are all the possibilities that can happen at every single decision point?"
And, don't stress too much! Enjoy school and build strong, life-long friendships.
